BVNS Rascal Foundation
Bush Veterinary Neurology Service Rascal Foundation is a non-profit organization with a single purpose: To Advance Veterinary Neurology. The foundation provides financial assistance for the care of pets with neurological disease.
The BVNS Rascal Foundation was created by William Bush, VMD,a board certified veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon and owner of Bush Veterinary Neurology Service, a referral practice headquartered in Northern Virginia.
Rascal’s Story
A very special patient named Rascal, who was treated for granulomatous meningoencephalomyelitis (GME), was the inspiration behind the Foundation’s name and logo.
In 2006, Rascal was in severe pain and could barely walk when his owner brought him to see Dr. Bush. An MRI and CSF tap helped Dr. Bush make a rapid and accurate diagnosis. Within a few days following treatment, Rascal was already showing great improvement and today, he is doing beautifully, enjoying a much better quality of life and bringing joy to his owner.
