Chris Hollingsworth

Dr. Hollingsworth was born in Guyana, South America and immigrated to the United States as a child. He was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland until he went on to pursue a bachelor's degree in biology from Morehouse College, a prestigious all-male historically Black college in Atlanta, Georgia. He relocated to the Washington, DC area after college and began his four-year career in research at The National Institutes of Health. He became a published researcher with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases where he investigated treatments for cryptococcal fungal infections in the central nervous system.

In 2019, Dr. Hollingsworth was accepted into veterinary school at Virginia-Maryland College of Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. It was during this time that his first dog, King began to suffer from seizures. This unfortunate situation became a source of motivation that ignited his interest in veterinary neurology. After graduating veterinary school in 2023, he returned to the DC area and completed a 1-year rotating medicine and surgery internship at Veterinary Referral Associates in Gaithersburg, Maryland before joining Bush Veterinary Neurology Service as a specialty neurology intern. He now serves as BVNS's Neurology/Neurosurgery Resident. When not working, Dr. Hollingsworth enjoys spending time with his loved ones, long distance running, and being a dad to his two four-legged-sons King, and Duke.
